For batteries in our devices, like our laptops and smartphones, there’s only so long they can last before they start to lose their charge.
For future owners of the AirPods, as long as they are still under warranty, replacing the battery might not be that big of a deal. As reported by 9to5Mac, Apple has updated its iPhone Service Pricing page to include the batteries in the AirPods wireless earphones. The pricing breaks down like this:
As noted in the original report, there’s no word explicitly saying that AirPods can get their own AppleCare+ warranty coverage, or if the AirPods will be covered under another device’s AppleCare+.
Apple will probably clarify soon, or simply leave the table as such and let customers figure it out on their own when the time comes.
