Apple has just sent out invites for the eagerly awaited media event on September 10, according to The Loop.

The event will be held at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, California and is scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM Pacific or 1:00 PM Eastern.

The tag line on the invitation says “This should brighten everyone’s day“.

Apple is widely expected to unveil the hotly anticipated next generation iPhone, dubbed iPhone 5S, and the lower-cost iPhone 5C at the event.

Apple is also expected to announce the release date for iOS 7 – the next generation mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch.
