More than 10 months after its first official announcement, Apple’s App Accelerator center in Bengaluru, India is now open. The center will help support developers and provide them with tools to help create polished iOS apps and games.

The center will feature Apple experts who will guide developers on how to take full advantage of the various APIs and other features in iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and macOS. Apple is calling the App Accelerator center the first of its kind in India.

“We are impressed by the great entrepreneurial spirit in India, and are excited to provide a platform for these developers to share their innovations with customers around the world,” said Phil Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing in a press statement.

“In just the first few weeks, we’ve already seen some incredible developers here at the App Accelerator Bengaluru, including Practo and Reliance Games, create innovative apps that can meet the needs of customers in India and around the world,” he added.

On its website, Apple notes that India has “tens of thousands” of developers who have created almost 100,000 apps for the App Store.

The App Accelerator program from Apple is completely free for developers to attend, though availability depends on the slot. You can register for the program over here.
