Apple TV Podcasts app

One thing that new Apple TV owners might have noticed is that there isn’t an Apple Podcasts app available out of the box.

That’s a strange omission, considering that the third-generation Apple TV, the model just before this latest release, had an Apple Podcasts app available to owners. Now, thanks to keen-eyed individuals, it’s been suggested that Apple does have plans to launch its Podcasts app at some point down the road for the new Apple TV, which supports apps thanks to its own App Store.

The image above, which is a screenshot taken from the demo loop that retail stores play when showcasing the Apple TV, clearly showcases the Podcasts app from Apple. The new app icon looks stylized for the new Apple TV’s user interface, so it doesn’t look like it’s there by accident. However, there’s no telling when Apple plans on actually launching the Podcasts app for the Apple TV, or if it’s even a guarantee.

If you picked up a new Apple TV, are you looking forward to seeing Apple’s Podcasts app show up?
