Apple has just updated the Apple Store app to version 2.7 with several performance improvements including improved product search capabilities.
In an internal memo to Apple Store employees, the company has also notified them of another addition to the app — selected paid iTunes content available for free to users for a limited time. The feature, leaked a few days ago, aims at raising awareness amongst new customers about Apple’s three digital stores — the iTunes Store, the App Store and the iBooks Store.
The free content isn’t available right away in the app, but will most likely appear only when a user is inside an Apple Store.
