Apple Watch Edition’s retail scope outlined in new report

When Tim Cook unveiled the Watch Edition, the gold variant of the upcoming wearable, he also confirmed that the premium device will see the light of day in some retail shops.

Of course, details were light at the announcement itself, but courtesy of a report from Women’s Wear Daily, some of the details have apparently come to light, including where the $10,000+ Watch Edition will make its presence known. These places will be called “shop-in-shops,” and they’ll be present at some of the most high-profile retail sites around the world. The idea, which is the same at the standard Apple Stores, will be for customers to walk in and see, if not downright experience, the Watch in hopes they’ll pick one up.

As far as details go, the Selfridges store will showcase the Apple Watch in the Wonder Room. The Wonder Room is a wonder in and of itself, with showcases of expensive jewelry and watches in glamorized cases. At another high-end store, Galeries Lafayette, the Watch Edition will be showcased with European brands on the first floor, which should warrant the most eyeballs on the fancy new wearable.

The Watch Edition will also be making an appearance at the Dover Street Apple Store in London, in Tokyo, and Maxfield in Los Angeles, The Corner in Berlin and Lane Crawford in Hong Kong.

Essentially, the Watch Edition will be a well known item all over the world, along with the other Watch variants that will surely be making the rounds as well.
