Apple is widely speculated to launch the next generation iPhone, the rumored iPad mini, next generation iPod touch and iPad nano at a media event on September 12th, followed by the launch on September 21st.
BGR now reports that AT&T is gearing up for the iPhone launch in the third or fourth week of September.
According to a trusted AT&T (T) source, the carrier is currently planning to launch Apple’s (AAPL) next-generation iPhone during the third or fourth week of September, with an all-hands-on-deck policy in place for employees that will extend through to the middle of October. A second AT&T source confirms that a large training event for regional employees has been rescheduled from the first week of October due to a conflict with a “huge announcement.”
The next generation iPhone widely referred to as ‘iPhone 5’ is expected to be thinner, come with a taller 4-inch display with 640×1136 resolution, unibody two-tone design, a variant of A5X processor used in the new iPad, 1GB RAM, support for 4G LTE network, a smaller MagSafe like dock connector and NFC chip.
We are eagerly waiting to get our hands on the new iPhone. Unfortunately, September can’t come soon enough.
