iPhone Firmware 2.1: Fix for Voicemail Password Incorrect Popup & Caller ID Toggle Switch Issue

iPhone Firmware 2.1

The overall feedback from iPhone users about iPhone firmware 2.1 has been very positive.

It seems to have fixed most of the known problems with iPhone firmware 2.x.x such as dropped calls, slow iPhone syncs, iPhone apps crashing issues, 3G reception issues, Apple Logo Screen of Death problem.

However, there are still some issues observed by users with iPhone firmware 2.1.

You can checkout the fix for couple of bugs which seem to be annoying some users after upgrading to iPhone Firmware 2.1 after the jump.

Voicemail Password Incorrect Error Message

If you keep getting the following popup “Password Incorrect – Enter Voicemail password” intermittently while making a phone call then the easiest solution is to reset your voicemail password. AT&T’s support website provides three methods to Reset your voicemail password which are mentioned below:

Reset voicemail password from AT&T’s automated system

Call 611 or 800-331-0500.
Enter the wireless number starting with area code.
Press 3 to “get help with voicemail.”
Press 3 to reset your VM password.
Enter the Billing Zip code for the account.
After a few seconds, iPhone will display "Password Incorrect – Enter Voicemail Password."
Enter the last seven digits of the wireless phone number and tap OK.

Reset voicemail password from AT&T’s website:
 
NOTE: You must be registered and logged into myWireless Account to view this information.
From the myWireless Account home page, select Phone/Device then choose the Reset Voice Mail PIN link from the left column.
IMPORTANT: If there is more than one line on the account, make sure the correct wireless number is displayed in the Wireless Number list before selecting Reset Voice Mail PIN.
To reset the password for any of the lines on the account, choose a wireless number from the dropdown menu
Click Submit.
After a few seconds, iPhone will display "Password Incorrect – Enter Voicemail Password."
Enter the last seven digits of the wireless phone number and tap OK.

Change voicemail password from the voicemail box:

Press the Home key.
Tap the Phone icon.
Tap the Keypad icon.
Tap and hold the "1" key.
Enter the current voicemail password.
Tap "4", "2", "1" to change the voicemail password.
After a few seconds, iPhone will display "Password Incorrect – Enter Voicemail Password."
Enter the new password and tap OK.

Problem with Caller ID Settings:

Some iPhone users are reporting that the Caller ID toggle switch fails to work after upgrading to iPhone firmware 2.1.

You can resolve this issue by resetting the iPhone. Hold the home and sleep buttons until the Apple logo appears, then release both buttons.
