iPhone syncing problem resolved

A few days back, we had written about a problem faced by some users who had trouble syncing their iPhones to iTunes 9 on Windows 7.

We are now hearing that a solution to the problem has been found, at least for some of the users.

Gigabyte Technology has released a beta BIOS update that could potentially resolve the issue for those users whose systems run on the company's motherboard. However, help is yet to arrive for others who have their computers running on Asus or MSI motherboards.

The issue, as we reported last week, occured most prominently on computers that ran Windows 7 powered by Intel P55 chipset. At that time, both Microsoft and Intel had promised to look into the issue with the former promising an update on their Microsoft Answers website if the issue was recognized as specific to Windows 7. However, there has not been any update from either of the companies regarding this since then.

With the new update now released by Gigabyte for the BIOS, the onus is on the other motherboard manufacturers to release an update for their customers. We shall update our readers as and when that happens.

If you are one among those who had been affected by this iPhone syncing problem, you may click here to download the update from Gigabyte. Please don't forget to tell us how it goes in the comments.
