TaiG iOS 8.3 - iOS 8.1.3 Jailbreak

TaiG team, the group of Chinese hackers, surprised everyone by releasing the TaiG 2.x Jailbreak tool for iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4. The jailbreak process hasn’t been very smooth for everyone, as a number of users are reporting problems with it and haven’t been able to successfully jailbreak their iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

To TaiG team’s credit, they have been working hard to fix the issues as soon as possible and have already released several updates.

If you’ve tried to jailbreak your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch with the TaiG jailbreak tool and have run into issues then try the suggestions mentioned in this article to see if it helps in successfully jailbreak your iPhone or iPad.

#1. Stuck at 20% / Error -1101

Even though TaiG team has released TaiG 2.1.2 and TaiG 2.1.3 Jailbreak tool, which claims to fix the issue where the jailbreak process is getting stuck at 20%, the problem doesn’t seem to have been solved completely, as we’re still getting complaints from readers that they’re getting stuck at 20% even with the latest TaiG 2.1.3 jailbreak tool.

If you tried to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad with TaiG 2.1.3 jailbreak tool and still get stuck, then you can try downgrading iTunes from 12.1.2 to 12.1.0. Check our post to if you need help on how to downgrade iTunes from 12.1.2 to 12.1.0 to fix the getting stuck at 20% issue.

#2 Injecting (Stuck at 60%)

If the jailbreak process is getting stuck at 60%, then reboot both your iOS device and your Windows machine. Then launch TaiG jailbreak tool in Administrator mode by right-clicking on the TaiG exe file and clicking on “Run as Administrator”.

If the jailbreak process still gets stuck, then you can also try to hard restart your device by pressing both the Home and the Sleep/Wake button simultaneously till the screen goes blank and see the Apple logo again. TaiG may start working again, and jailbreak your device. Check this reddit thread for more details.

Update: Please use the TaiG 2.4.1 beta if you’re getting stuck at 60% during the jailbreak process. You can download TaiG 2.4.1 beta from our TaiG jailbreak download page. Check this post for more details.

#3. Apple Driver not found error

If you’re getting the error “Apple driver has not been found please download and install iTunes”, then try to install iTunes 12.1.2 for Windows (64-bit – for older video cards) from this link. Install as you would do normally. It should not affect your iTunes Library. Let us know if it fixes the problem. You can check our article for more details:

#4. Tweaks are not working

A majority of the tweaks will work after fixing the issue with Cydia Substrate. You should get an “Essential Upgrade” popup when you launch Cydia, tap on Complete Upgrade to install the latest jailbreak packages. You can check this post for more details.

It is also quite possible that the tweak is not compatible with iOS 8.3 yet. You can check our post to find out if the jailbreak tweak is compatible with iOS 8.3.
