Facebook’s long been rumored to introduce an Android phone running a customised version of the OS with an additional social layer on top. These rumors have been picking up steam lately, as the company announced a media event to show its “new home on Android.”

A number of leaks have revealed key information about what’ll be announced at the event. The Android phone Facebook’s rumored to launch is called the HTC First, it has 1GB of RAM, a 4.3 inch 720p display, a dual core Snapdragon S4 processor and runs Android 4.1.2. Android Police has obtained a full system dump of the software onboard the HTC First, which reveals a special Facebook app called “Facebook Home” that is capable of displaying content on the home screen. This app would apparently also be available on the Play Store for other Android phones.

Photos of the HTC First, available in various color variants, were published by @evleaks:

Later, the interface of the phone leaked, again by @evleaks, revealing how Facebook’s design team customised Android:

There’s still no word on tentative pricing and availability. We’ll know all the specifics at tomorrow’s (April 4) Facebook event, which will start at 10 AM PT.
