We’ve some good news if you’re a fan of IFTTT (If This Then That), the popular productivity service that lets you hook up different aspects of your digital life.

They have just released an iPhone app to create and use recipes around things you do while on the move such as taking photos, adding new photos, completing reminders etc.

The iPhone app adds three new channels specific to the iPhone: Contacts, Photos and Reminders. IFTTT plan to add more channels in the future.

Just like the web service, it allows you to activate the channels on the iPhone and use them to create and use recipes. Activating channels is a little cumbersome as you need to login to those services on your iPhone.

But once the channels are activated, creating and using recipes is quite easy. Tap on the channel to select the trigger (this part of the recipe) such as when you’re tagged on Facebook, when you take a screenshot etc. and then select the channel to select the action (then part of the recipe) such as send an email or text message etc.

Since the app cannot run in the background (until iOS 7 is released), you can enable the background syncing feature which will run recipes involving iOS Photos, Contacts and Reminders when your location changes.

You can download the app for free from the App Store using this direct iTunes link.

If you’ve been an IFTTT user, then we would love to know what you think of the iPhone app in the comments.
