Instagram confirms multiple account switching landing on iOS app this week

Earlier in the month, a report surfaced that suggested Instagram was testing the ability to have multiple accounts loaded into the iOS app, to make multiple account management easier.

Turns out that is indeed the case, as Instagram has now officially confirmed that account switching is coming to the iOS (and Android) app beginning this week. According to the official post Instagram made public, the new feature will actually be available in version 7.15, which was released earlier this month as well.

So for Instagram users that updated already, the new feature should be rolling out soon.

To get access to this new feature, you’ll head into Settings and add the additional account. Once that’s done, you’ll just need to tap on your profile name at the top of the app to switch to another one. And Instagram says there will always be a profile picture that you can see of the account you’re currently active on, so there isn’t any confusion:

“Go to your profile settings to add an additional account. From there, tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts. Once you have multiple accounts added, you’ll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you’re using at the moment.”

Good to see the oft-requested feature rolling out, especially for heavy Instagram users. Just in case you don’t already have it installed, though, there’s a link to do so below.
