iOS 8.4
Apple released iOS 8.4 for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch on June 30th. It includes the all-new Music app which comes integrated with Apple Music, Apple’s highly anticipated streaming music service.
iOS 8.4 is also expected to fix the Wi-Fi issues that has plagued users since the iOS 8 update. It will also include a fix for the effect power text bug.
iOS 8.4.1
Apple released iOS 8.4.1 on August 13. It includes number of improvements and fixes to Apple Music.
Compatibility
The following iOS devices are compatible with iOS 8.4 software update:
- iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5s, iPhone 5c, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4s
- iPad Air 2, iPad mini 3, iPad Air, iPad 4, iPad 3 and iPad 2
- iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 (Retina iPad mini), 1st gen iPad mini
- iPod touch 5th generation (iPod touch 5G)
Jailbreak Status
You can jailbreak iOS 8.4 using the TaiG Jailbreak.
It is however not possible to jailbreak iOS 8.4.1, as Apple has patched several vulnerabilities in iOS 8.4.1 used by the TaiG jailbreak.
