Apple has been on a roll lately rolling out new iOS 12 betas every few days. After dropping two iOS 12 beta builds last week which many thought was an odd move, Apple has gone ahead and done the same thing this week.
After releasing iOS 12 beta 9 at the beginning of this week, Apple released beta 10 just a couple of days later. iOS 12 beta 10 does not come with any major improvements or changes. The quick beta release of iOS 12 beta 10 was likely due to some underlying bugs or issues that Apple discovered and wanted to be patched quickly.
As speed tests conducted by YouTuber iAppleBytes show, iOS 12 beta 10 does not bring any noticeable performance improvement when compared to previous iOS 12 beta builds released recently. When compared to iOS 11.4.1, the latest iOS 12 beta continues to show the same performance improvement as previous builds.
When compared to the first beta of iOS 12, beta 10 of the OS boots almost 9 seconds faster on the iPhone 6s. There are slight performance improvements in app loading times and system animations as well.
If anything, these videos show what kind of performance improvements one should expect when Apple gets around to releasing the final build of iOS 12 to the public in September. On older devices, iOS 12 should boot faster and it should also be faster in loading many apps. The general UI performance has also improved notably with iOS 12.
If you are already running iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad, do not expect the final build of the OS to bring about any further performance improvements. How happy are you with iOS 12 on your iPhone or iPad? Are the speed improvements enough to not make you upgrade to a new iPhone this year?
