According to a screenshot from an internal iOS 8 build, Apple plans to let users record their iPhone or iPad’s screen without the involvement of a Mac.
Developer Hamza Sood shared the screenshot of an internal iOS 8 build that shows Control Center settings, with an option called “Record Screen.”
This option would be very useful with the changes lined up for App Store that let developers add a demo video along with screenshots. There’s already an Apple-provided solution to record your iOS device’s screen, but it involves a Mac, whereas the Control Center option would work without one.
It appears that the feature isn’t ready for public consumption yet, and is only available in internal builds of iOS 8. We hope Apple opens it up to everyone in future iOS 8 beta releases.[via @hamzasood]
