While there have been numerous leaks depicting what could be the rear shell for the upcoming iPhone 6, a pair of leaked photos this morning provide one of the more close up looks at the component. Unlike in previous leaks, the rear shell has a colored antenna band that matches the overall silver and grey design of the smartphone.
In previous months, the iPhone 6 rear shell leaked with noticeably thick, white antenna lines, leading many to claim that Apple would never release such a poor looking design from an aesthetics perspective. Those critics might have been correct, as now the antenna lines blend right in with the overall look and feel of the claimed iPhone 6 part.
The second image, pictured below, also reveals the thinner, rounder design that the iPhone 6 is expected to have. It appears that the headphone jack will remain positioned on the bottom of the device, next to the Lightning connector with two screws holes to hold it in place, the internal speaker grill and what could be holes for the microphone.
The leaked photos were posted courtesy of the French website Nowhereelse, which over the past few months has shared several components that it claims belong to the iPhone 6. While we cannot verify the veracity of these latest photos, they are consistent with leaked images of the rear shell that have surfaced in previous leaks.
The new iPhone 6 has been rumored to feature an ultra-thin design, 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes, improved Touch ID fingerprint scanner and NFC, optical image stabilization, LTE-Advanced, iOS 8 and more. The iPhone 6 is expected to be announced at Apple’s September 9th event and released between September 16th to September 19th.
