Virtual Home 8

VirtualHome, the first jailbreak tweak ever to be released for Touch ID, and also one of the most popular Touch ID tweaks will be released for iOS 8 – iOS 8.1 very soon.

Virtual Home 8 as the name suggests allows you to use Touch ID as the Home button, so after installing the jailbreak tweak, placing your finger on the Home button/Touch ID when you’re on the Home screen will open the app switcher, so you don’t have to double click on the Home button to access it. Thus minimizing the wear and tear of the Home button.

Similarly, if you’re using an app, then a tap on the Home button will take you to the Home screen, so you don’t have to click the Home button.

If your iPhone is locked, the tweak includes a feature called QuickUnlock, which saves you the trouble of tapping on the Home or Sleep/Wake button to wake it up, and directly takes you to the Home screen when you place your finger on the Home button/Touch ID.

moeseth, the developer of Virtual Home has tweeted that he has submitted the new iOS 8- iOS 8.1 compatible version will be available on Cydia very soon.

Have you been eagerly waiting for Virtual Home to be compatible with iOS 8 – iOS 8.1? Let me know in the comments.

VirtualHome8 for iOS 8 has been released. It is available for $1.49 on Cydia, and no longer free like the version for iOS 7. This may not go down well with many users, but if you’re a big fan of the tweak then a great way to show your appreciation is by buying VirtualHome 8.
