iPhone Xs and iPhone Xs Max Features
In 2018, Apple is widely expected to three new iPhones, just like last year. However, it looks like Apple is going to launch two-flagship models. The first 2018 flagship model will be the second-generation iPhone X with the 5.8-inch OLED display, and the second one will come with a 6.5-inch OLED display, which has been dubbed iPhone X Plus. Apple is also expected to launch a cheaper 6.1-inch iPhone model which could come with MLCD+ display technology that was first introduced by LG in its flagship G7 ThinQ smartphone.
All the 2018 iPhone models are going to feature all-screen displays with nearly non-existent bezels. They will also feature the TrueDepth camera system for Face ID, which means that they will sport the controversial notch design at the top. It also means that the 2018 iPhone models are unlikely to feature a Touch ID fingerprint scanner.
The 5.8-inch and the 6.5-inch OLED models are going to come with all the new features and improvements but Apple may cut some features in the cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model. So the LCD model may come with an aluminum frame instead of the stainless steel frame, lack support for wireless charging and may not support 3D Touch.
2018 iPhone naming
According to the latest report, Apple will be calling the 5.8-inch – iPhone Xs and the 6.5-inch iPhone model – iPhone Xs Max. The cheaper 6.1-inch LCD model will be called iPhone Xr.
