Facebook has launched a new section under its Help Center to help people find out if their data was shared with Cambridge Analytica. The whole Cambridge Analytica incident where data of around 87 million users were compromised has led to a lot of people wondering just how secure their data on the social network is.

While Facebook revealed that data of around 87 million users were compromised, it never provided users with a way to know if their data was compromised up until today.

When you visit this new page in Facebook’s Help Center, it will automatically show if you or your friends logged into “This Is Your Digital Life.” If the answer is a no, then your data was not shared with Cambridge Analytica while a yes means your data was compromised. In case there is a data breach, Facebook highlights that the data shared would include your public profile, page likes, birthday, and the current city you live in.

Facebook does not reveal which of your friend was the reason behind your data being compromised in a bid to likely save them from your anger. If your data has already been compromised, there’s not much you can do except reviewing your profile to see which apps have access to your data to prevent something similar from happening again in the future. The social networking giant has already made its privacy tools easier to find in a bid to help users review their various privacy-related settings.
