4-inch iPhone 6c

Chinese website, M.I.C Gadget, has published a video of what it claims is the 4-inch iPhone, which Apple is rumored to release in mid-2016.

The Chinese website claims it is the first demo unit straight from Foxconn, Apple’s biggest manufacturing partner in China.

As you can see, the device showcased in the video sports the same design as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus. It looks smaller than the iPhone 6s, but it difficult to confirm that it is indeed the 4-inch iPhone 6c, iPhone 7c, iPhone 5e or whatever Apple ends up calling it, without a side-by-side comparison.

The Chinese website hasn’t provided any other details. According to rumors, the 4-inch iPhone will be based on the sixth-generation iPod touch, and will come with Apple’s A8 chip with 1GB RAM, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, and a better FaceTime HD camera with a wider f/2.2 aperture. It will also support Apple Pay and VoLTE. It is also claimed that the iPhone 6c will be available in 16GB and 64GB storage options, and with an 8-megapixel camera.

The sources also say that the iPhone 6c will start at around 3,288 yuan, which is approximately $500 (U.S.). That would make it $150 cheaper than the 16GB iPhone 6s off-contract, but only $50 cheaper than last year’s iPhone 6, which offers a larger, sharper display.

It does make sense that Apple uses the same design as the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus, rather than coming out with a device will an all-new design like it did for the iPhone 5c with the plastic casing.
