In a few days from now, Apple will unveil the highly anticipated 2018 iPhones. Based on the leaked product marketing image, Apple will call both the 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch models, iPhone XS.
I’m sure many of you’ve already decided to buy or upgrade to iPhone XS. Based on the release timetable Apple has been following for the last few years, we can predict the new 2018 iPhone XS release date.
2018 iPhone XS Release Date
We already know the iPhone XS launch date as it has sent invites for the “Get Around” event last week. As you can see in the table below, since the launch of iPhone 4 in 2011, Apple has mostly released the new iPhones 8 or 9 days after the launch event. Last year (and 2015) were an exception as Apple released iPhone X more than a month after the launch day due to supply related issues.
We don’t expect the delay like last year in the release of the new iPhones this year as Apple had addressed the supply related issues. Apple likes to launch new iPhones on a Friday, so based on the pattern followed by Apple over the last few years, iPhone XS release date will most likely be Friday, September 21.

Apple is expected to unveil two iPhone XS models, one with a 5.8-inch screen like the iPhone X and a bigger model with 6.5-inch OLED screen. Apple is also expected to unveil a cheaper 6.1-inch LCD iPhone model.
All three iPhone models will feature largely the same design as the iPhone X but will feature improved camera system, Apple’s new A12 chip, faster LTE support, and USB-C to Lightning cable for faster-charging speeds. The 6.1 and 6.5-inch models are expected to offer dual-SIM support in some countries. Based on the leaked product marketing image, the 5.8 and 6.5-inch iPhone XS should also be available in gold.
If you’re planning to upgrade to iPhone XS, then now is the best time to sell your old iPhone to get the best value, as resale prices for older iPhones will drop when iPhone XS goes on sale.
