You might not know this but when you delete a photo from your Camera Roll, it gets stored in the ‘Recently Deleted’ section temporarily for 30 days rather than getting deleted permanently. To delete it permanently, you have to remove the photo from that folder as well. DeleteForever is a new jailbreak tweak that makes this task easier for you.
With the tweak installed, whenever you want to remove a photo from your Camera Roll, you will also get an option to delete it permanently rather than moving it to the Recent Deleted section.
After you select the photos you want to delete and tap on the trash icon, an action sheet appears that allows you to choose whether you’d like to delete the photo normally, where it will get stored in the Recent Deleted section, or delete it permanently. Choosing the latter will remove the photo completely without saving it temporarily on your device.
The tweak doesn’t come with any additional options so once you’ve installed it, you can head to the Photos app and take advantage of the feature.
DeleteForever is currently not available in any one of the default Cydia repositories. To install it, you’ll have to add the following source to Cydia first: http://repo.ioscreatix.com/. You can then search for the tweak and install it on your iOS 8 device.
Keep in mind that once you have deleted the photo permanently, there’s no way that you can undo the operation and get it back. Having the photo stored temporarily in the Recently Deleted section gives you a second chance to restore it and send it back to your Camera Roll.
If you’re in to give this tweak a try, add the repo mentioned above. Share your opinions about the tweak in the comments section below.
