App Admin is a popular jailbreak tweak that recently debuted in Cydia and allows you to downgrade App Store apps to any version that you’d like. The tweak has been gaining traction lately and has received positive response from its users even though it’s still in beta.

The tweak has now received an update that adds an interesting new feature requested by many users. App Admin now provides the ability to block specific apps from automatic updates. Such apps will be removed from the ‘Updates Available’ section of the App Store and prevented from being updated automatically even if automatic app updates is enabled on your iPhone.

To block an app, launch the App Store and go to the Updates Available section. When you tap on the Update button next to an app, you will view four options with one of them being ‘Block All Updates’. Choosing this options turns off automatic updates for the specific app and removes it from the Updates Available list. You can unblock an app by tapping on the Blocked button in the top left corner and swiping the app to the left and choosing Delete.

The tweak also received an update previously that brought support for iOS 7 devices and added an option for quickly downgrading apps to the previous version.

With all these updates that the tweak is receiving, it is starting to show more potential and become a useful tool for many jailbreak users. What’s more important is that the developer is very active in fixing bugs reported by users and rolling out new features. The upcoming features include giving Cydia developers the ability to define which versions of app their tweak will work on so users will be warned beforehand if an update will break a tweak and show available tweaks for an app while browsing the App Store.

If you haven’t installed App Admin yet, you can get it from http://beta.unlimapps.com/ or by navigating to this link from your jailbroken iOS device.
