Apple Pay isn’t a complete stranger to Major League Baseball or its ballparks across the United States, with the 2015 All-Star Game welcoming the mobile payment option.
But it isn’t widely available just yet, even as its rollout continues. Today, the point-of-sale (POS) company Appetize has announced that it is rolling out Apple Pay support at four additional MLB ballparks in the U.S., including the iconic Yankee Stadium in New York. Appetize is the POS equipment that works in a variety of different concession locations at these stadiums, so picking up food to watch the game should be easier than ever before.
Here are the new additions:
- New York Yankees: Yankee Stadium
- Colorado Rockies: Coors Field
- Kansas City Royals: Kauffman Field
- Los Angeles Angels: Angel Stadium of Anaheim
“Appetize has been a great partner that has driven both innovation and efficiency within our operations,” said Mike Morris, CIO of Legends Hospitality, Foodservice Provider for Yankee Stadium. “Using Appetize has helped us to enhance the fan experience by providing more flexible ordering and payment solutions that improve the speed of service to our customers.”
It’s also worth noting that Appetize has been adding Apple Pay-supported POS options for quite some time now:
- Los Angeles Dodgers: Dodger Stadium — 2nd Year
- New York Mets: Citi Field — 3rd Year
- Boston Red Sox: Fenway Park — 3rd Year
There are still quite a few stadiums that need to gain support for Apple’s mobile payment option, but at least the growth is happening at all.
How often do you use Apple Pay?
