There are times when you accidentally send a text message to the wrong person and there’s no way you can undo it. Dele is a new jailbreak tweak that gives you a brief second chance before you send that message.
The tweak automatically delays your text message or iMessage for a short duration of time before it is delivered to the recipient. This gives you a chance to stop the message from getting delivered. It was one of my favorite features of biteSMS.
Other than this, the tweak also displays a little pop-up box next to the text field which provides quick access to a range of editing tools such as cut, copy, paste, erase etc.
Once you install Dele, head to the tweak’s preferences pane available in Settings where you can enable or disable it on demand, assign an Activator gesture to toggle it on or off as well as adjust the delay time.
To get started, head to the Messages app and compose a message. As you start typing, you will notice a little pop-up box that provides various editing tools. Once you tap on the ‘Send’ button, a progress bar appears at the top of the screen displaying the time left for the message to get delivered.
To cancel the delivery, all you have to do is to erase the message before the timer ends. This can be done by tapping on the trash button available in the pop-up box or by using your keyboard to erase all the texts. The former provides a much faster method of erasing the entire text in a snap.
If the timer ends and there’s still some text left in the text field then it will be delivered to the recipient. Otherwise the delivery will be stopped.
Dele is quite a useful tweak that not only helps you avoid an embarrassing situation but also provides easier access to various text editing tools.
