Safari Upload Enabler

Mobile Safari has revolutionized the way we surf the web on mobile devices. But, there are still a few things one cannot do using mobile Safari on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch like a desktop browser. One such thing is the ability to natively upload files.

Safari Upload Enabler is a jailbreak tweak that as the name suggests allows you to upload files on a webpage. The jailbreak tweak is developed by pimskeks – member of the Chronic Dev team and who was part of the jailbreak dream team who released the Absinthe jailbreak.

pimskeks has just released an updated version of his jailbreak tweak to add support for iOS 5.0.1/iOS 5. It also includes the following new features and improvements:

  • New feature: bookmarks for file system and Dropbox folders
  • Fixed crash in private browsing mode
  • Fixed crash in preferences bundle
  • Small photo picker layout improvements

The tweak is very useful if you tend to use webmail or services like Facebook, Dropbox using Mobile Safari to upload photos from your iPhone’s camera roll.

Note: You may need to switch to the desktop version of a website to get an option to upload a file.

Safari Upload Enabler is available in Cydia for $1.99.
