Cydia just got an update today to allow users to purchase jailbreak tweaks and apps that are compatible with iOS 9.3.3. But the update also brings an interesting new feature that allows anyone to purchase with confidence.
Dubbed as the “Self-Service Refund” system, users can now request a refund for a jailbreak tweak they’ve purchased within the last 24 hours and instantly get refunded in a matter of minutes. That means you no longer have to go through the hassle of contacting developers for a refund, most of whom are difficult to get in touch with.
The new refund system will also encourage Cydia developers to constantly push updates for their tweaks and fix bugs to prevent unsatisfied customers from requesting a refund
If you’ve purchased a tweak but don’t find it working as promised, you can follow the steps below to get a refund.
Step 1: The first step is to uninstall the tweak from your device. Launch Cydia and go to the tweak’s description page. Tap on the Modify button and choose Uninstall. If the tweak is installed on any other device, make sure to remove it from there as well.
Step 2: Once the tweak has been removed and your device resprings, go back to its description page in Cydia. Right below the “Package Officially Purchased” label, you’ll find an option that says Automatic Refund. Tap on it.
Step 3: You’ll be taken to the compensation page. Tap on “Click Here for Immediate Refund” button to continue.
Step 4: Cydia will now refund your purchase and display a “Done” message.
Now, if you go to your PayPal account, you should see the amount refunded to your account. If you don’t see it, wait for a couple of minutes as it may take some time to process the refund.
This is a great feature for getting refunds instantly for tweaks that are buggy and don’t work as promised. The only caveat is that you won’t be able to purchase refunded tweaks again. My guess is that it will only be allowed once a new update for that package is made available.
