Saurik has just released an amazing new package called Cydia Impactor that helps you remove jailbreak for your iOS device. The tool removes and reverts all changes made to the device and returns it to the stock iOS firmware you’re currently on without updating your device to the latest available firmware. This means that all the jailbreak packages installed will be removed along with the jailbreak itself while remaining on the same iOS version.
Cydia Impactor is currently in beta and supports iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4 devices. However, it will not work with iPod Touch 6th generation.
To find out how to remove jailbreak from your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch using Cydia Impactor, read the step-by-step guide below.
Important points before we proceed:
- Cydia Impactor currently supports iOS 8.3 and iOS 8.4 only and doesn’t work with iPod Touch 6th generation.
- Make sure to take a complete backup of your device via iTunes or iCloud as Cydia Impactor removes all the available data, apps and settings.
- Do not interrupt Cydia Impactor while it’s working and make sure that your device has enough battery to let the process complete.
- Cydia Impactor also requires a working internet connection.
Step 1: Launch Cydia.
Step 2: Search for Cydia Impactor and install it.
Step 3: Once installed, you’ll find a new icon on the Home screen labelled Impactor. Tap on it to open.
Step 4: Read all the instructions on the screen and tap on “delete all data and unjailbreak device”. Press Delete All to confirm.
Step 5: Your device will reboot several times during the process. Make sure not to interrupt it while it’s working.
Step 6: Once completed, you will be taken to the welcome screen where you’ll have to setup your iOS device and activate it. You can also restore from your backup during the setup process.
Your device will now be on the stock firmware without being jailbroken.
