App Switcher displays a preview of all the apps on your iPhone that are running in the background. This can sometimes be a privacy issue as the preview can display contents that you’d otherwise want to remain hidden. This is why a new jailbreak tweak known as BlacklistSwitcher9 has been developed to provide more control over your privacy.
As you might have guessed from the tweak’s name, it allows you to blacklist the apps which are to remain hidden from the App Switcher. Once an app is hidden, it’s preview will no longer appear in the App Switcher.
After installing the tweak, you can get started by heading to the tweak’s preferences pane in Settings and enabling it. To hide an app from the App Switcher, tap on the Forbidden Applications option to view a list of all the apps installed on your iPhone and select the corresponding app from the list. All the apps that have been blacklisted will have a checkmark displayed next to them in the list.
Once you’re done, the tweak doesn’t require a respring as the changes will take effect right away. The next time you launch the App Switcher, you will notice that the blacklisted apps are hidden and that their preview is not displayed. This also means that you will be unable to close them from the App Switcher.
BlacklistSwitcher9 is a useful tool to keep your privacy secure from prying eyes. If you ever wished to hide certain apps from the App Switcher then this tweak is the right choice for you.
BlacklistSwitcher9 is available for $0.99 on Cydia’s BigBoss repo and supports iOS 9 devices only. Make sure to let us know what you think about this tweak in the comments section below.
