While the stock Photos app in iOS 8 displays the date that a photo or video was taken, it doesn’t show the complete timestamp such as the time. Photo Timestamp is a new jailbreak tweak that displays the exact timestamp of a media in the Photos app.
With the tweak installed, when you view a photo or a video in the Camera Roll, the date along with the exact time that it was captured will be displayed right below it
The nice thing about the tweak is that the timestamp is displayed as a transparent banner under a photo or a video so if you’re not comfortable with where it has been placed, you can simply tap on it and start dragging it up or down to place it where you want.
Once you install Photo Timestamp, you’ll find a bunch of configuration in the tweak’s preferences pane where you can customize it to suit your taste. From there, you can enable or disable it, choose the background color of the banner and the text color, adjust the banner’s transparency, choose the alignment and the font of the timestamp as well as adjust the font size and the banner’s height.
In case you’re not comfortable with the settings you made, you can return to the default configuration by simply tapping on the ‘Reset to Default Settings’ button below the pane.
That’s all the tweak has to offer and if you wish to view the timestamps of every photo and video in the Photos app, then this tweak is a solid choice. Photo Timestamp is available for $1.99 on Cydia’s BigBoss repository and it supports both iOS 7 and iOS 8 devices. I feel that the tweak is a bit overpriced for what it is offering and should have been a freeware instead.
