One change in iOS 8 that went unnoticed was the ability to see how much space each artist and album in your music library is taking up.
While earlier versions of iOS 8 let you delete music by artist, album and individual song from the Music app, you couldn’t see how much space each artist or album was taking up. With iOS 8, you can see this information by going to Settings > General > Usage > Manage Storage > Music.
Here you’ll see the space occupied by your entire collection, and also broken up by artist. The list shows a list of all the artists from your library. You can tap on an artist to see their albums, and the space occupied by each of those albums.
To delete all songs by an artist, or in an album, simply swipe the corresponding row from right to left. You’ll see a red “Delete” button. Tap on it, and the song should be deleted.
