The leaked iOS 11 Golden Master build points to iPhone 8 coming with a new ‘Animoji’ feature. This feature will allow users to make use of the 3D sensors at the front to create 3D animated emoji and then share it with their friends and families.

Apple describes Animoji as “custom animated messages that use your voice and reflect your facial expressions.”

As per the images in the iOS 11 GM build, users will be able to create custom Animoji of robot, unicorn, pig, panda, monkey, fox, dog, and more.

Users will be able to create Animoji from within the Messages app. These Animoji will presumably be limited to the iMessage platform, with users unlikely to use them in other apps. The feature will be exclusive to the iPhone 8 since it makes use of the 3D sensors found on the front of the device.
