iPhone XS Leak

An allegedly leaked internal slide from China Mobile points to Apple calling the 6.1-LCD iPhone as the ‘iPhone XC’ and the 6.5-inch as the ‘iPhone XS Plus.’

This contradicts the previous report which claimed that Apple would be calling the 6.5-inch iPhone as the ‘iPhone XS Max.’

The China Mobile presentation also points to Apple pricing the 5.8-inch OLED iPhone XS at 7388 RMB, with the iPhone XS Plus retailing for 8388 RMB. The 6.1-inch LCD iPhone XC will be priced at 5888 RMB. For comparison, the 2017 iPhone X sells for 8316 RMB in China, though this includes a 17 percent sales tax.

Converting the leaked price, the iPhone XC will retail for around $700 which lines up perfectly with what all rumors have been claiming so far. This will be the first time after the iPhone 5c that Apple will be launching an iPhone with a ‘c’ naming convention.

Interestingly, the slide points to Apple offering the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Plus with dual-SIM functionality, while the budget iPhone will only come with single-SIM connectivity.

Apple will be unveiling its three new iPhones on September 12 at its Gather Round event. The iPhone XS and 6.5-inch iPhone XS Plus will be available in three colors — Silver, Space Gray, and Gold, while the budget iPhone XC will be available in a variety of colors similar to what the company did with the iPhone 5c.

Given that the leak originates from China, it is better to take it with a pinch of salt since its authenticity cannot be verified.
