In iOS Safari, there are two ways you can clear your browsing history. You can use the Clear button to remove all the history at once or swipe an individual history item to view the delete option. But what if you wanted to remove multiple histories at once? SafariHistory is a new jailbreak tweak that allows you to do this.
With the tweak, you can easily select multiple items in Safari’s history list which you want to remove and clear them all at once. In this way, you can remove individual history items at once without having to clear your entire Safari history.
Once installed, launch the Safari app and open the History list. If you don’t know how to do this, you can simply tap the icon on the bottom bar that looks like a book and switch to the History page.
You’ll notice that there’s now a new button in the bottom left corner labelled as ‘Edit’. When you tap on it, you will be allowed to select multiple history items at once. To clear the selected histories, tap on the ‘Action’ button and choose delete. All the selected items will now be removed in bulk from your Safari history list.
As you can see, with the help of the tweak, it’s very easy to clear multiple items at once without having to clear your entire Safari list or delete them one at a time, which can be a very tedious task especially if there’s a lot of history items you want to remove.
I feel that this is something that Apple should have implemented in iOS as a stock feature. Meanwhile, if you’re jailbroken and would like to have such a feature in iOS 9 then you should definitely try SafariHistory. The tweak is available as a free package on Cydia’s BigBoss repo.
