Ever find yourself admiring a font on a web page, and want to find out what’s the name of the font? The developer of WhatFont, the popular browser extensions, recently released a new iOS 8 Safari extension that let’s you do just that.
So here’s what you need to do:
- Download WhatFont from the App Store. It’s a universal, free app.
- Open a web page and select the text whose font you want to identify.
- Tap on the share icon to open the iOS Share Sheet.
- The second row of icons contains Action Extensions. Scroll to the right of this row to reveal the More icon, and tap on it.
- You should see a list of available extensions, scroll to the “WhatFont” extension, and enable it by turning on the toggle.
- Now you should see the WhatFont extension icon in the bottom row. Tap on it, and you should see all the information about the font.
If you know HTML, then you could also use the View Source App Extension to check the source code of the webpage to find the font that has been used on the webpage yourself.
