The Messages app in iOS 10 received tons of exciting new features such as screen effects, stickers, bigger emojis, rich link previews, and much more. But one essential feature that is till missing is the ability to schedule messages to be sent at a later time.
There are times when don’t want to send messages right away and instead prefer to schedule them to be delivered at a specific date and time. For instance, it’s your friend’s birthday tomorrow and you don’t want to miss out on wishing him/her a happy birthday. In this case, you could easily schedule your message for tomorrow to be delivered automatically so that you don’t forget it.
This feature has been requested numerous times by iOS users, but we’re yet to see Apple add it. If you’re jailbroken, then you’re in for some good news. Kairos 2 is a jailbreak tweak that allows you to schedule iMessage and SMS messages to be sent at a later date and time.
Using the tweak is quite simple. Once you install it, head to the Messages app and open a conversation where you want to send a message. Now type your message and hit the send button. Instead of the message getting delivered, a popup appears to ask whether you want to send the message right away or schedule it for a later date and time.
If you wish to send your message right away, tap on the Send Now button. Otherwise, to schedule the message, use the date and time picker to choose when your message should be delivered. Once done, tap on the Select button and the schedule will be set. The message will be stored on your device until the schedule date and time arrives, at which point, it will be delivered automatically.
What I like about this tweak is that it allows you to view all your schedule messages in one place. On the main page of the Messages app, you’ll find a calendar icon in the top right corner. Tap on it to view a list of all your schedule messages along with the date and time that they’ll be delivered.
Kairos offers a couple of other features as well that takes message scheduling a step further. These are:
- Smart Airplane Mode: if the tweak attempts to send a scheduled message while Airplane mode is enabled, it will be turned off temporarily and then re-enabled after the message has been delivered.
- Smart Battery Send: When you enable this option, Kairos will automatically send messages scheduled within an hour whenever your iPhone’s battery drops below the specified level.
The tweak also comes with a dedicated preferences pane in Settings where you’ll find a couple of configuration options. From here, you can enable or disable Smart Airplane Mode and Smart Battery Send as well as choose how you want to schedule messages, such as when you double tap on the send button or press the Digital Touch button. You can also blur the background behind the message scheduling popup.
Kairos brings a feature that many iOS users have been eagerly waiting for. If you ever wanted the ability to schedule messages, then you’ll definitely love what this tweak has to offer. It works perfectly as advertised and comes with a couple of additional features that will make message scheduling a breeze.
You can purchase Kairos 2 for $2.99 from Cydia’s BigBoss repo. It supports all devices running on iOS 10. If you give this tweak a try, make sure to let us know what you think about it in the comments below.
