When chatting with your friends over Facebook Messenger, there are times when you want to share your current location. Perhaps you want your friends to find your home more easily or guide them to a specific location. The good news is that this is now possible in Facebook Messenger.

The app was recently updated to allow its users to share their current location with friends. If you’ve been waiting for this feature, then now’s the time to take advantage of it. Here’s how you can share your location in Facebook Messenger on iPhone.

How to Share Your Location in Facebook Messenger on iPhone

Step 1: Open the Facebook Messenger app and go to a conversation where you want to share your location.

Step 2: Tap on the more button represented by an ellipsis icon.

Step 3: Choose Location.

Step 4: A prompt appears to allow Facebook Messenger to access your location. Tap on the Allow button.

Step 5: Next up, a map is displayed with your current location. To send this location, simply tap on the Send button in the top right corner. If you wish to send a different location, you can search for it using the Search bar or you can drag around the map and place the red pin on the location which you’d like to send.

That’s it! The selected location will be sent in the conversation which you had opened. The recipient can tap on the embedded location to view it on the map in fullscreen. It can even be opened in the Maps app or in a third-party app such as Google Maps.
