I, for one, find that syncing my calendar with Facebook makes my calendar infinitely more useful — at a glance, I can see whose birthday it is, what shows I can look forward to that day and my personal engagements as well. This way, I can plan my day for work and play all at once. Here’s how you can sync your Facebook events and birthdays with your calendar:
- Install the Facebook app and log in with your account details.
- Hop over to the home screen and launch Settings, and then scroll down to find Facebook in the list of apps.
- Tap Facebook to check out settings for the app — you’ll see a list of apps that you can allow to use your Facebook account. Turn on this setting for Calendars.
Find Facebook in the iOS Settings menu and allow Calendar to use your account
- Pop over to the home screen, launch Calendar and tap the Details button to the left of the search button. You should be able to see events and birthdays for every day marked on the calendar with a dot below it.
Tap the Details button (in red) to view events and birthdays for each day
- Tap on any listed event to view more details. You can also tap on a listed birthday to view that person’s contact info, and tap his/her name under the Facebook field to visit their profile and wish them a splendid birthday.
Tap any event to view details
Tap a birthday to view that contact’s details
