Killian Bell over at Cult of Mac recently discovered a swipe gesture that can be used in the Calcular app that allows you to delete the last entered number.
The gesture is quite straight forward, you can delete the last entered number by swiping from left to right or right to left across the display in the Calculator app.
This is quite useful if you’ve accidentally entered the wrong number. I used to wonder why the app didn’t come with a backspace button to delete the last entered number as it meant you had to clear the display and re-enter the numbers again, which was quite a pain.
Check out the brief demo below of how to use the swipe gesture to delete a number:
You may have noticed from the video that the swipe gesture may not work the first time, but should work in the 2nd or 3rd attempt.
I must admit that it is a little embarrassing when you come across an iOS trick that has been around for a very long time that I didn’t know about.
If you knew about it, then I would encourage you to share such tips in our forums or email them to [email protected] so we can share it with everyone.
