Apple’s WWDC 2016 keynote kicks off on Monday at 10:00 am PDT where it is widely expected to unveil iOS 10, the hotly anticipated next generation mobile operating system for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, and OS X 10.12, the next major update for Macs, which could be rechristened as macOS.
The good news is that Apple has announced that it will be live streaming the event, so you can watch the WWDC 2016 Keynote on your iPhone, iPad, Mac, Windows or Android device. If you need help, then you can follow the instructions below.
How to watch WWDC 2016 Keynote live stream
Apple TV
If you have Apple TV 3 or Apple TV 2 with Apple TV software 5.0.2 or later, then navigate to “Apple Events” channel with the WWDC 15 logo on the main menu to watch the event live on your television.
Mac
If plan to watch it on your Mac, then launch Safari browser and point it to the following url: http://www.apple.com/apple-events/june-2016/
iPad, iPhone or iPod touch
If you plan to watch it on your iPhone or iPad, then point mobile Safari to the same URL – http://www.apple.com/apple-events/june-2016/
Windows 10
Windows users can also live stream the event on their PC officially. But there’s a limitation. You can only do it if only on the Microsoft Edge browser which comes with Windows 10.
If you’re on Windows 10, then point Microsoft Edge to the following url – http://www.apple.com/apple-events/june-2016/
Windows/Android
The live stream officially works only on the Mac, iOS devices and more recently Windows 10. However, you can use the following workaround to watch the WWDC 2016 live stream on older Windows or even on an Android device:
- Download VLC, the VideoLan media player.
- Launch the VLC app.
- Navigate to the ‘Media’ tab and select ‘Open Network Stream’.
- Just before the event starts we’ll update the post with the URL which you need to copy and paste in the URL field. This is the direct location to the stream (which is the stream Apple TV uses internally):
- After pasting the URL, press Play.
What time will the event start:
The event is set to kick off at 10:00 am PT. Check our post to find out when Apple’s much-awaited WWDC 2016 Keynote will start in your time zone.
