Apple finally launched iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus with much bigger screens earlier this year, which was one of the most requested feature.
However, people who loved the size of the iPhone 5, iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c, which came with 4-inch screen were quite disappointed, as they had hoped that Apple would launch a 4-inch iPhone 6 along with the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch models.
If you fell in that group then we’ve some good news for you. Japanese website Feng claims that Apple will replace the 4-inch iPhone 5c with a new 4-inch model.
That would be interesting, as we have assumed that Apple will discontinue iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c next year when they launch the next generation iPhone. Feng claims that Apple is planning to launch a new 4-inch iPhone model next year for users who are looking for easier one-handed use. One of the disadvantages of a bigger screen especially iPhone 6 Plus’ 5.5-inch screen is that it is not very comfortable to use it with one-hand, and even though Apple has added the Reachability feature for easier one-handed use, it is not as convenient as the 4-inch iPhone.
So it probably make sense for Apple to continue offering a 4-inch model, however it is not clear if the 4-inch model will come with the same internals as the next generation iPhone, or it will come with the internals of iPhone 6 or iPhone 5s.
I just love my iPhone 6 Plus, and every time I use my iPhone 5s, I find it so tiny, and can’t see myself switching back to a 4-inch iPhone. But I have come across some people who are switching back to an iPhone 5s after using iPhone 6 or iPhone 6 Plus for a few weeks, so there certainly seems to be demand for a 4-inch iPhone model.
What about you? Will you switch to a 4-inch iPhone model with the same specs as iPhone 7/iPhone 6s (or whatever Apple ends up calling it) if it is available next year?
