Which?, a consumer testing organisation known for its accurate scientific tests, has conducted a battery life test of all the current flagship smartphones including the iPhone 7. The tests revealed that the iPhone 7’s battery life is not as good as other major Android flagships like the Samsung Galaxy S7, LG G5, and HTC 10.
The organisation conducts its tests using a phone network simulator that ensures that there is no difference in signal strength while testing various phones. In the talk-time test that was conducted on a 3G network, the iPhone 7 only managed to last 712 minutes. In comparison, the HTC 10 lasted a whopping 1859 minutes, while the LG G5 and Galaxy S7 lasted for 1759 minutes and 1492 minutes respectively.
In the web browsing test conducted over 3G, the iPhone 7 still fared last, but this time around, the difference was not big enough. While the iPhone 7 lasted for 615 minutes while browsing the net on 3G, the LG G5, Samsung Galaxy S7, and HTC 10 lasted for 640, 677, and 790 minutes, respectively.
Before you diss the iPhone 7 for its poor battery life, remember that it comes with a mere 4.7-inch screen and a 1960mAh battery, which is significantly smaller than the batteries found in the LG G5, Galaxy S7, and HTC 10. So, it is actually quite commendable to see that the difference between iPhone 7 and its Android competitors in the 3G browsing test is very small.
In all probability, the iPhone 7 Plus will easily beat all current Android flagships in a similar battery life test. How happy are you with the battery life of your iPhone 7?
