Microsoft is hosting its biggest developers conference right now, with BUILD 2017 officially kicking off yesterday.

As such, there are new things coming out of the Microsoft camp right now, most of which is focused on software — and Windows 10. That includes announcing a brand new major update for the platform, which is called the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, as detailed by The Verge.

Yes, Microsoft is reusing the “Creators Update” title for this forthcoming software upgrade.

As for the features that Microsoft is talking about today, there are four new additions that Windows 10 users can look forward to: Timeline, Pick Up Where You Left Off, Clipboard, and OneDrive Files On-Demand. Interestingly enough, Microsoft is actually aiming to draw in more iOS (and Android) users with these new additions.

• Timeline: This is meant to improve the Task View in Windows 10, which allows users to see a list of apps and workspaces they were using previously or even on another device entirely. This will let users see what they were doing on another machine, or in a specific app or workspace, which combines with…
• Pick Up Where You Left Off: Basically, this feature will let Windows 10 users start a project on one device and then pick up where they left off on another. And this extends beyond just other Windows 10 users, as Microsoft is hoping developers will start to link their desktop applications to allow users to resume their work on other devices, including iOS and Android.
• Clipboard: This is similar to Universal Clipboard, which Apple introduced not too long ago, and it works the same way. With it, Windows 10 users would be able to copy something on their PC and paste it on another device. But Microsoft’s goal is beyond just its own ecosystem, and it would let users copy content from Windows 10 and paste it into an iOS or Android device.
• OneDrive Files On-Demand: This will let Windows 10 users easily fetch a file from OneDrive without having to download an entire folder, or sync everything, just to get one document.

Microsoft announced the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update, and talked about the aforementioned features, but it says there is still more to come, and it will get around to announcing those other new features at a later date.
