Telegram comes with many useful features that eases the communication with your friends. One such feature is voice message recording. With the tap of a button, you can record a voice message of any length and send it to your friends, and vice versa.
While this is a useful feature, especially when you’re in a situation where you can’t type, one of the annoying things is that you could accidentally tap on the record button and it will be sent right away without asking for confirmation.
Although Telegram doesn’t allow users to disable voice recording, there is a workaround that involves configuring the app’s privacy settings. Here’s how to disable the voice recording feature in Telegram for iPhone.
How to Disable Voice Recording in Telegram
Step 1: Open Settings.
Step 2: Go to Privacy.
Step 3: Tap on Microphone.
Step 4: Here you’ll find a list of all the apps that have requested access to your device’s microphone. Find Telegram in the list and toggle it off.
By doing this, you will prevent Telegram from accessing the microphone, and this means that the voice recording feature will no longer work. Now if you open Telegram and tap on the record button, a popup will appear requesting for permission to access your microphone. This should prevent you from sending voice recordings by mistake.
If you barely use the voice recording feature of Telegram, then this trick will do the work. However, it also means that you won’t be able to use other features of the app that require access to the microphone such as voice calls.
