Apple has released iOS 13.2.2 for iPhones and iPod touch users and iPadOS 13.2.2 for iPad users. The iOS and iPadOS 13.2.2 comes a week after Apple released iOS 13.2. Most importantly iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2 fixes the RAM management issues and cellular data performance.
Most of us are aware of the RAM management problem on iOS 13.2 and iPadOS 13.2. Due to the issue iOS unexpectedly shut down apps while running in the background thus affecting overall performance. Apple is fixing the RAM management issue on the iOS 13.2.2 and iPadOS 13.2.2.
iOS 13.2.2 Release notes read as follows
- Fixes an issue that could cause apps to quit unexpectedly when running in the background
- Resolves an issue where iPhone may temporarily lose mobile signal after a call
- Addresses an issue where mobile data may temporarily not be available
- Fixes an issue that caused replies to S/MIME encrypted email messages between Exchange accounts to be unreadable
- Addresses an issue where using Kerberos single sign-on service in Safari may present an authentication prompt
- Resolves an issue where charging may be interrupted on YubiKey Lightning-powered accessories
Apple had also released iOS 13.2.1 last week. The update was exclusively meant for HomePod. However, users complained that the update bricked HomePod and thus Apple released iOS 13.2.1 to resolve the issue.
