Out of the box, the Saddle Brown iPhone 6s case is pretty bright, and while some prefer the pristine look, others might argue that a more used aesthetic has more appeal.
One post on Reddit from user “danhendricks” shows what their Saddle Brown case looks like after three weeks of usage, and the elements have not been kind to the case. In a comparison image to a brand new Saddle Brown case, the differences are stark and distinct, with the used case looking quite faded and much darker.
But danhendricks actually prefers the newer look that the case shows off, which is probably due to the leaking of dye from the original poster’s “raw denim jeans,” but also the oils introduced to the case in every day normal usage. Interestingly enough, outside of stories regarding other cases that other Reddit users have owned and see fade in their own way, the general consensus seems to be that the used case looks better than the brand new one.
Usage time will vary to get that look, though. The OP says that their case looks that used and faded after just three weeks, while others say they’ve had their case for longer (but it can’t be by much, right?) and aren’t seeing the same fading or alterations. Usage of the phone/case probably plays a big part, too.
If you picked up one of Apple’s leather cases for the iPhone 6s or 6s Plus, are you seeing the same results? If so, what do you think?
