One of the more consistent rumors, despite seeing some pushback recently, is that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack in favor of going with the Lightning port, or Bluetooth, for headphones.

Now, according to a new report from Mac Otakara, and citing sources the publication spoke with at this year’s Computex Taipei, there might be a few key changes in place. First, the report does echo previous rumors, saying that Apple will indeed drop the 3.5mm headphone jack in its future iPhone models. However, Apple will apparently not be including Lightning-equipped EarPods in the box.

Instead, the sources say Apple will have 3.5mm EarPods in the box, and include a Lightning adapter to connect them to the phone:

“At Computex Taipei 2016, many manufacturers showcased their new Lightning audio adaptors, and it seems there has been rumors that the headphones to be included with the new iPhone 7 series will still come with its own headphone jack as usual, and that a Lightning headphone jack adaptor will also be included in the package.”

As it stands, this is the first time that something like this has been suggested. Leading up to this report, the rumors have gone with Apple including Lightning headphones right out of the box, but also pushing truly wireless headphones as a separate purchase, which would connect to the new iPhones via Bluetooth.

It’s certainly an interesting rumor, especially in light of more recent suggestions that Apple won’t drop the 3.5mm headphone jack at all.
