Apple’s latest iPhones are already breaking records. Since the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus went on sale on Friday, more than 13 million units have been sold, making these the fastest-selling Apple smartphones during launch weekend.

“Sales for iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been phenomenal, blowing past any previous first weekend sales results in Apple’s history,” said Apple CEO Tim Cook. “Customers’ feedback is incredible and they are loving 3D Touch and Live Photos.”

iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are available in just 12 countries for now, but it’s thought the inclusion of China from the very beginning has helped Apple’s latest devices surpass previous records. China has been an increasingly important market for Apple, with huge demand for the iPhone there.

Last year’s iPhone 6 and 6 Plus sold 10 million units during their launch weekend last September, while in the previous year, the iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c sold 9 million units. Of course, Apple’s sales figures will rocket exponentially when the new iPhones expand their reach. The Cupertino company is targeting more than 130 countries by the end of the year.

In addition to 3D Touch and Live Photos, the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus deliver Apple’s latest A9 processor, 2GB of RAM, new 12-megapixel iSight cameras with support for 4K video, and more robust designs, with Series 7000 aluminum and Ion-X glass.
