Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the Settings tab.
Step 3: Go to Account > Privacy.
Step 4: Toggle off Read Receipts.
Now that you’ve turned off read receipts, you can read messages without the recipient knowing it. You also won’t be able to view the read receipts for your sent messages. If at any time you wish to view read receipts again, simply follow the same steps as above and re-enable the feature.
It may also be a good idea to hide your last seen status so that the other person won’t realize that you’re ignoring them. Here’s how to do it.
How to Hide Your Last Seen Status in WhatsApp
Step 1: Open WhatsApp on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap on the Settings tab.
Step 3: Go to Account > Privacy.
Step 4: Tap on Last Seen and select ‘Nobody’.
By hiding your last seen status, you won’t be able to view other people’s last seen as well.
